Though social media and mobile media don't make democracy they do open communication possibilities between the people in the area, in the region and globally.
The rise in Benghazi tweeting is a lot like the surge in overall Arab tweeting we saw during the Egyptian Revolution. The Arab world is now embracing tweeting as what is clearly a major communication media.
